What Are Ozempic Pens?
Ozempic (Semaglutide) is an injectable liquid medicine used for patients having diabetes type 2. It helps lower your blood sugar level and helps to prevent cardiovascular attacks. The treatment is suitable for children above the age of and adults with type 2 diabetes. This is not an insulin injection but an advanced injectable medicine that aids in lowering blood sugar levels.
- Red/Grey Label Pen: Delivers a starting dose of 0.25 mg or a maintenance dose of 0.5 mg. Total volume is 2 mg.
- Blue Label Pen: Delivers a 1 mg dose. Total volume is 4 mg.
- Yellow Label Pen: Delivers a 2 mg dose. Total volume is 8 mg.
- Check the Liquid: Ensure the liquid is clear and colorless.
- Attach a Needle: Screw a new NovoFine or NovoTwist needle onto the pen.
- Dial the Dose: Turn the dose selector to your prescribed weekly dose.
- Inject: Insert the needle into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Press and hold the push-button until the dose counter reaches “0”, then slowly count to 6 before removing the needle.
- Safe Disposal: Remove the needle and discard it in a puncture-resistant sharps container.
